Sing  movie will star the voices of Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Seth MacFarlane, Tori Kelly, John C. Reilly, Taron Egerton and Scarlett Johansson. It is scheduled to be released on December 21, 2016 by Universal Pictures.

Five lead contestants emerge: A mouse (Seth MacFarlane) who croons as smoothly as he cons, a timid teenage elephant (Tori Kelly) with an enormous case of stage fright, an overtaxed mother (Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon) run ragged tending a litter of 25 piglets, a young gangster gorilla (Taron Egerton) looking to break free of his family’s felonies, and a punk-rock porcupine (Scarlett Johansson) struggling to shed her arrogant boyfriend and go solo. Each animal arrives under Buster’s marquee believing that this is their shot to change the course of their life.

Though the trailer for Sing only gives audiences a brief sampling of the songs to be heard in the film, the entire feature will showcase up to 100 hit songs from the 1940s until 2016. One can only wonder how much it cost Universal to license them all.Matthew McConaughey also looks to have taken to the animation genre. The actor recently completed voicework as Beetle in Kubo and the Two Strings. The only strange part is that it is nearly impossible to spot McConaughey's voice as Buster Moon, the koala holding the contest.
